Which is better 2nd generation processor or core 2 duo processor

I have core 2 duo processor and I want to install Intel HD graphics driver. Can I install

The Core 2 Duo does not include Intel HD Graphics or integrated graphics at all. If you have a Core 2 Duo, the integrated graphics would depend on your motherboard.

If you have a 2nd-generation Core i series CPU, then it would include Intel HD Graphics and would be better than the Core 2 Duo.
