Have been looking at Levono/Dell/HP Deals as well

Basically this will be my in-office work PC and I've been doing a lot of work at home recently (which will only increase) so when it came time to upgrade my work PC I'm getting a laptop instead. This laptop can and will also be used for home use as well - basic web browsing, Discord/Skype stuff but it MUST play Civilization V on medium/high settings. This is a must have.

If you're looking to recommend something else - here is the questionnaire filled out.

Only game I want to play on it is Civilization V on medium/high. Which means I'll be running a dual Boot of W10 Pro and W7 Pro

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?

For Dual Boot situation I'm thinking I'd need at least 512GB SSD to split in half for each OS - Thoughts?

Why would I offer that? Anything that I could find within your specs. was more expensive. Pay for convenience? I don't want to.

Why don't I like https/www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834234578? The 7500U. Half as many cores in the 7500U means half as efficient. Your productivity tasks much prefer the higher core count of the 7700HQ and your game will like it too.

If you want to play Civ V on high settings, I think you'll have to accept the recommended system requirements on Steam which include a quad-core CPU. Your linked candidates are a very capable productivity machine (the ASUS) and a refurbished gaming laptop (the Razer Blade).

They are both dual-core machines and that's my only real reservation. The Razer Blade has a QHD panel that might be useful for Civ V, but for productivity you could end up having to adjust the scaling of the applications you'll be using. In other words, if your usage is something like 75 percent work and 25 per cent gaming, I think you'll be better off with the FHD panel in the ASUS.

That said, here's a quad-core Dell Inspiron from Amazon US, available at $918:

The quad-core Skylake i7 will provide ample base power to run a turn-based game like Civ V. The GPU is a 4 GB 960M card. You get a 128GB SSD for the main OS and a 1TB HDD for a second OS and everything else. Neither the ASUS nor the Razer Blade offers more than 1 disk, although the 512GB SSD in the ASUS is very attractive.

The Dell comes with a 4K display, but the frame is 15.6". Is there a particular reason it has to be 14" or smaller? If not, I think the Dell is superior to the other 2 on all the important counts.
