its for games (i know, not ideal for gaming but on a budget!)

The i7-7500u is overall a minimal improvement over the i7-6500u in terms of CPU performance. If you want to play games then get the laptop with the nVidia 940mx which is a lot more powerful than the Intel HD 620.
