Which laptop is better? gt640m vs gt650m

Which laptop is good for gaming like gta iv, battlefield 3, battlefield4, (and also gta v when out of pc) with descent fps?

LAPTOP B
I5-3230M
GT650M 2gb

LAPTOP C
I7-3610QM
GT640M 2gb

Laptop B, but don't expect to be playing those games at anything above 720p on low settings if you want playable framerates.

where in my post did i say it is 😀? i said since he won't be gaming a lot on the laptop graphics (either of them) atleast a i7 is a better cpu. the i7 has 4 cores instead of the 2 on the i3/5

I assume you mean GTA IV. And just because the sight says you can run it, it won't be a very god experience. 1280x1024 is a pretty low resolution, and since GTA IV is a poor console port, medium/high will still be very taxing on the system. The difference between the i5 and i3 is the i5 can turbo up to 3.1GHz under load, the i3 only supports PCIe 2.0, the i5 has support for Intel's Clear Video, and the i5 has support for AES encryption. Now what does all that mean? Well, the only thing you should really be concerned about is the turbo function. You will get an extra 600MHz, give or take, under load (while gaming) with the i5.

There have been a number of comparisons between laptops with a stronger CPU + weaker GPU and weaker CPU + stronger GPU. The end result is that the laptop with the weaker CPU + stronger GPU wins the comparison. This basically because the weaker GPU prevents the stronger CPU from actually being used to it's full potential since it needs to wait for the GPU to finish doing whatever it needs to do before the CPU can continue. That is a rather simplistic explanation, but it mirrors reality.
