so i am planning on buying a 1050 4gb laptop with an i7-7700hq should i aim for a 16gb laptop or a 8gb one i am now kind of between an asus fx503vd-e4035t with 1tb and a 128 ssd card with 8gb ram and a lenovo legion y520 with 2tb and 16gb i will add to the lenovo an ssd later i guess....so should i go with the lenovo or the fx503vd both have the same cpu and gpu stated above only difference in ram and storage option and i kind of dont know much about screen quality in both but the lenovo is a not dat good fhd-led ips screen with kind of a bit low brightness and the 503vd is an fhd-led which i am not sure if it is better or worse than the lenovo one.

If you were only using cad lightly, maybe the asus one will perform a bit better. Besides, since the laptop only has one stick of 8 gb of ram, you can always purchase another stick of 8gb later on to suit your needs. Just make sure you purchase laptop memory/ram...otherwise, it’s going to be too large. And they are budget laptops after all...you will need to make some sacrifices. You can always try out a monitor if you want (there are portable ones if you’re interested)

but lets say i only decide on the device and use very light cad will the extra 8gb of ram still be worth it

i just dont want to waste money on something i wont use and maybe use the money to get better chassis build quality/screen quality btw what do u think of the fx503vd vs the acer nitro 5 i read in a review that the acer has kind of weak hinges and i feel that the asus fx503vd seems like it have a much stronger chasis and a cool more formally looking design but sadly both screens are tn so arent dat good but they r bright atleast not like most budget gaming laptops with a very low brightness well its the sacrifice for the good gaming power without making u get broken.

About the ram thing, I don’t think that is true. When I got my new hp laptop, I put in ram from an older laptop (both ddr4) and it worked just fine. As for the portable monitor, this is just an example, but if you search portable monitors in google, you should find something.
