I am an engineering student and i want to buy a laptop. My budget is 700$. I have been doing some search and i have heard that touchscreens that can be bought in this budget are not reliable and they create problems in the laptops, Furthermore, i use programming softwares so i was wondering if touchscreens were a good choice and if u people would kindly recommend some laptops to me in this regard

id check out this laptop from ebay - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T530-Intel-Core-i5-3520M-2-5GHz-4GB-500GB-15-6-Windows-7-Home-/281380997877?pt=Laptops_Nov05&hash=item41839d4af5

for $450. Its manufactured refurbished btw.

Then I would buy an solid state drive for $100-110 such as this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Crucial-MX100-CT256MX100SSD1-2-5-256GB-SATA-III-MLC-Internal-Solid-State-Drive-/301243408557?pt=US_Internal_Hard_Disk_Drives&hash=item462381a0ad

Then I would clone the hard drive contents to the ssd and computer should be good to go.

We've just bought a Toshiba satellite m50-a- something laptop. It is pretty stylish, and of high quality. You can check that series out. Is has different versions, though. Ours doesn't have a touchscreen, for example.

Its color seems silver on my screen on the website, but it is kinda closer to gold in reality
