I am going to buy one of these two laptops:

1.Turbo-X Blade GS i3n40-450 2VR Laptop, which has an Intel® Core i3 4000M, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, Nvidia GeForce GT 840M 2GB and SATA 500 GB 5400 rpm.

2.HP 15-af001nv Laptop, which has an AMD A8-7410 APU, 8 GB DDR3L-1600 SDRAM, AMD Radeon R5 M330 2 GB DDR3 and 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA SSHD.

I was going to buy the Turbo-X Blade GS i3n40-450 2VR Laptop, but the HP has 4 GB more RAM and the CPU is a bit better than the i3 4000M, since it's Quad Core. I am going to use the laptop i choose for my university studies as well as play some games with it. So, which one would you think is the best choice for me?

Solution
The Core i3-4000m will be slightly better than the A8-7410 in overall performance. The A8-7410 is a budget quad core CPU based on the low end Carrizo architecture and the clockspeed is pretty close; 2.4GHz vs 2.5GHz.

Each core in an Intel Core series CPUs can process a lot more instructions than each core in an AMD APU. If a game only makes use of one or two cores the Core i3 will easily provide much better performance. If a game can make use of 4 cores, then the performance will be about the same, but I give the Core i3 a slight edge.

The GT 840m is easily more powerful than the Radeon R5 M330 even though the GT 840m is not considered a powerful GPU. When the Radeon R5 M330 operates in dual graphics mode with the integrated Radeon R5...

Are you sure about that? I mean, the more cores a CPU has the better it is and since the AMD A8-7410 has more clock speed as well wouldn't the HP 15-af001nv Laptop be the best choice? I just want to be sure about this, i cannot afford to waste any money.
