I am looking to buy a camcorder for live streaming. I realize there are some hurdles in doing this but Im interested in the quality of the camcorder.

I am looking at some professional quality Mini DV camcorder and consumer hard drive camcorders. The consumer camcorder offers 1080p and the mini dv offers 720p/1080i. Which will offer better quality recordings?

Here are some sample products the make this easier for you to compare....

MiniDV: http://www.amazon.com/JVC-GY-HD110U-Definition-Professional-Camcorder/dp/B000GT9MV8

Consumer: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-VIXIA-Digital-Camcorder-Black/dp/B00HLDFTRS

DSLR:http://www.amazon.com/Exilim-EX-FH20-Digital-Camera-Optical/dp/B001HCTKZQ

Thanks in advance

The Canon will provide good video quality and is full HD. The JVC is a professional camcorder and depending on your OS and whether or not you have a firewire port it could be fairly easy to set up for live streaming. A plus for the JVC is the 3 CCD's but the drawback is the 720p recording and the use of tapes. I know nothing about the Casio choice so I can't say anything one way or the other about it. Whatever you decide make sure it can be done with the camera you choose.

The MiniDV has three CCDs (one per color). Generally that will get you the best video. Usually the quality of the glass (lens) is as important as anything. Depending on where you intend to setup, you should consider purpose made lighting also.
