I heard toshiba is a bad brand? Not to sure about that. Toshiba - bad brand? No way. Their build-quality & reliability is very high, hence the relatively high price.

Doth thine eyes deceive me?? Or are those two laptops really the same price?

From what I can see, the Toshiba is a much better value as far as hardware/capabilities go. The only noteworthy thing the Acer seems to have over it is battery life, but I gather that's due to the GPU difference and the larger screen on the Toshiba.
