which thinkpad model is best for computation in engineering purpose?

"best" is always the workstation models, for Lenovo that would be their P range. Make sure to get the real quad core CPUs, some are slower low voltage. Which I don't really understand, I don't get any "workstation" laptop having a dual core CPU when quad core and higher are available. No one buys a workstation laptop for price or power saving.
