hi guys, i want to buy a gaming laptop in a few moths, but i can not decide which, i need your help.
i am deciding between two models:

Asus tuf https://www.solotodo.com/products/48271-asus-tuf-gaming-fx504gm-en051t
  • i5-8300h
  • 1060 6gb
  • 8 ram
HP omen https://support.hp.com/cl-es/document/c06039335
  • i7-8750h
  • gtx 1060 3gb
  • 8 ram
Need the laptop for two purposes: Gaming and video game development.
I want to play all the games at 1080p 60 fps in mid-high settings for the next 5 years (more if possible)
and i am studying game development and I hope I can use it to work when I finish my studies.

Both have the same price in my country.

Then my questions are:
  • Asus laptop with i5 allows me to play fine with the 6gb 1060, but for program, it is much the diference compared to i7?
  • HP laptom with i7 allows me to works fine, but is the 3gb 1060 a limitation for play in the next years?
Work are priority, but if the 1060 3gb limits me a lot to play in next years and the diference between i5 and i7 is not much to work, i prefer the Asus.

An laptop with i7-8750h and 1060 6gb is out of my budget.

sorry for bad english, i wait for your answers, thanks since now.

Really hard to say, the 3GB 1060 will most likely be a bottleneck in a short period of time.
The I7 could help in gaming development but the i5 will do the job as well. I would tend to the 6GB version of the GTX 1060 and the I5

5 years plus? The laptop will die most likely in 3 to 5 years. Depending on how often you game with it. (just a personal feeling)

By video game development you mean UE5 and similar engines? Or which exactly?

3-5 years... close enough.

I am studying C# so I thought about Unity, but i do not rule out learning c ++ and use UE.

thanks for your reply.
