I'm looking to surprise my 17 year old daughter by getting her a laptop for her birthday. And I'm wondering which would be better a newer processor that's slower but lower quality or an older one that's faster. The new one runs Windows 8.1 64 bit, the refurb runs Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
