Whisper volume speakers after Upgrade to W10 on Dell desktop

After upgrade (?) to W10, my speakers volume is really low. Tried all sorts of maneuvers. Any more suggestions? Used to blare, now a whisper. Dell desktop with realtek speakers. The event code is: Device HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0899&SUBSYS_102805B7&REV_1000\4&220b1bbc&0&0001 requires further installation.
