This may be what they said you could do

It says you plug what you want to record into the xbox HDMI input and then you can record that onto your Win10 PC over your network. Not exactly what you want to do

I went to gamestop and they said to plug in the hdmi cord from the computer to xbox now my xbox only has 2 hdmi plug in's and one of them goes to the TV so if I unplug it and put it in the other one it does not come on and I only have 1 hdmi plug in on my computer so what do I do.

You don't plug the xbox in the pc or you could fry things.

All devices have an input or output or both ports.

The PC is output ONLY. You would need a capture card in order to capture the content.

I believe though in Windows 10 with the XBox app, you can capture your content, can you not?
