Why is my dvdplayer in black and white

The cord I have is a regular rca cable and both my DVD and tv have composite hook ups. What do I do to get color?

Some TVs have a shared composite and component video input. Check the TV menu to change it if yours does.
Try the DVD on another TV to make sure that it's OK.
