Why isnt my blackberry pin alphanumeric?

Hi my name is maisey,
a few of my friends have blackberrys and they are contacts on bbm and they have tried adding me and i have tried adding them but nothing happens?
i was wondering if it was that my blackberry pin isnt alphanumeric?
Also is it that i am not connected to any wifi services?

As far as I know, all BB pins are alpha-numeric, i.e. there is at least one letter in it. I know mine is alpha numeric. It sounds like your issue with BB messenger is related to the pin number, as you shouldn't need wi-fi to use messenger- just a data plan. I'd get in touch with your carrier and they can check with RIM on the issue.

You'd have to see if T-Mobile offers data plans on their pay as you go plans or not.

To use bb messenger you have to have a data plan to my knowledge for any US based carrier
