Why toshiba laptop will not shutdown

Hello,

My Toshiba Satellite L650D laptop is not shutting down by itself, I have to press the power button to do so. Any idea why this is happening ?

sounds like there is a program, running in the background that is preventing the OS from shutting down properly.

What is the solution if you could let me know ?

Find out which program / programs are preventing the system from shutting down properly, then either un-install them or Make sure you have closed out of it before shutting down the laptop.
