WiFi keeps dropping on iPad mini 2

Recently bought ipad keeps on dropping wifi when playing videos on YouTube at random times even if not in full screen.

Thats a problem with your router. Be sure to get that checked. Then take care that there are no microwaves or metal surfaces blocking your connection with the thing. I had the same problem too, but now its fine. Also try rebooting the router.
