will a dual core macbook pro be enough

I am at college doing computer science and I was wondering if a dual core 13" i5 macbook pro would be enough for what I would be doing on it.

Creating assignment documents,
compiling code etc...

Id strongly recommend a windows laptop since you can get a LOT better deal and have a lot better hardware and you can always make it into a macintosh

yh but the battery life on all the windows laptops I have seen last about 10 seconds, I need one that will last quite a while for college

well you can always buy a second battery for it but if you certainly want to buy an apple then you should look for a one with 4-cores
