Question Windows 10 again!!!!

Win 10x64 v10.0.18362 Pro
Up until the latest win upgrade (1903) I was able to connect my Google Nexus 5x phone to windows as I still can with Win 7x64. Now I cannot as windows simply does not recognise it any more.
Anybody got any constructive suggestions?

Windows is on 1909 now, so you aren't current. Does Windows give any of the normal sound prompts when connecting/disconnecting your Nexus?

Also, from where did you get your Windows install media?

Made the mistake of leaving it to Win Update and it didn't though it did update 1903 in Jan 2020! DL'ing 1909 now. I installed Win 10 over Win7 x64 Pro by downloading it from MS mid-2019. It plays a jingle when I connect the phone and another disconnect jingle when I change USB to File transfer. Connect worked fine till around this time.
I'll report back when 1909 is installed.
1909 now supposedly installed - now showing version 10.0.18363. Nothing after the . though!
No change with the phone connect. Got the distinct feeling I've simply dug deeper into MS/Google wars.
