Hi!
Im Having this stress over windows 8, + touch.
I have been looking at this laptop (Acer v5 552g) and another laptop, the same model comes with a touchscreen.
I have the money to spend more on a touch, but I'm afraid that the touch will not be useful that much for me. I can still see "fast and fun computer use" with just the keyboard and mouse in w8. Still, I'm afraid that w8 without touch will not be that user friendly as with touch!
I mostly use a pc for writing, YouTube, moves, 3d games and web surfing. Do I need touch for that, and will it change the experience to the better?

So you guys with touchscreens and without... Help me decide :)

1) chips, if I'm watching a movie. x)
But I always have the option to use keyboard + mouse if I'm afraid of grease on the screen...

2) are touchscreens really that fragile?

All I'm thinking about is mostly the windows 8. And 8.1
I want to have a good experience with it, and I'm afraid that if I get a laptop without a touch, I will "miss" something xD

Hello... Touch screens inputs are nothing NEW, And have been around my life since 1994... As a Maintenance Man in a Modern factory, I have replaced all types and for all reasons. I just don't see how this can be a Clean Problemless Solution in One's Family home yet. Yes, they get Dirtly, Scratched, Smeared, and Poked... With Finger nails. pencils, pens, and other things other than a clean smooth surface... And Don't ya hate trying to look though something Dirtly, Scratched, or Smeared?
