Did you get your notebook from another person?

Chances are Windows updated itself with a new algorithm designed to detect pirated systems. If your system isn't pirated, someone else may have pirated your key on the internet (which is not to say that they hacked you, because they didn't; it's certainly possible a key generator generated your product key).

thanks for replying pcfixed, yes there is a coa on the bottom. i bought it from a guy who refurbishes them, like i said it still works fine i just keep getting the window that says noy genuine, is there anything i can do to resolve this myself? thanks for your time i really appreciate your help

thanks for the reply, i still dont know what to do, how do i know if it has been pirated, what is my next step, short of spending 150 bucks? thanks for your time i really appreciate it!!!!!

Well, you can simply remove the warnings by plugging that machine's hard disk into another computer and searching for files with WGA in them. You'll find a couple that should all be stored in the \windows directory. Delete them, and the warnings should go away. You'll also have to set automatic updates to manual install, and search for the Windows Genuine Advantage notifications anytime it asks to update and uncheck them.

a much quicker and guaranteed way is to re-install your windows with your recovery discs or any windows discs that match your license.
your license is underneath the laptop or on the side of the pc if you dont have it you cant have original windows.

once you install it, you will have 30 days to activate it
to activate it, call the microsoft line with the number that shows on your pc screen using "telephone option"

use retail or oem cd for the version it states on your license or coa, uderstand?
