Wireless headphones connection

I have an LG smart tv without Bluetooth. Connected to this via hdmi is an android tv box which has Bluetooth capability. I would like to stream video using kodi on my android box to my tv but have sound diverted to my wireless headphones. I have paired the headphones to the android box but the sound still comes out of the tv. For information headphones are Motorola. Any help would very much appreciated.
