X-Fi poppling sounds and "dangerous crackling sounds"

Hi.

I have had two sound cards by creative.

1: X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity
2: Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional, 64MB, EAX® ADVANCED HD

Both of these cards are PCI cards and they both gave the same poppling noises and disturbances in pretty much all of my games that I play. But it is not just poppling noises, if you move your mouse fast (or even medium fast) around in your game so that you move your camera view, the sound disappears for a few second and then it give me unbearable noises, almost ruined my ears, I always have to quickly remove my headphones when that happens. And it happens every time I move my mouse medium or fast around.

I have installed the latest sound drivers, latest graphics drivers. I have removed all overclocking from both cpu and gpu. I have checked that the cards are well fit in the socket, checked my gold plugs as well. Windows is updated with the latest from windows update (Windows 7 32 bit btw).

My motherboard is Asus 775 Striker Extreme triple sli motherboard and my graphics card is XFX GTX 280.

I would also like to mention that I removed my creative sound cards and installed the sound chip that came with my motherboard, the noises were considerably reduced, but not gone at all. The noises are still there, but the "dangerous" noises are gone. But it is in no way solved. So that didnt solve anything, I reinstalled my creative soundcard again.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this?

I solved it. I shut down my computer for half an hour and shut it up again, now it works. I think this is a heat problem issue. Creative PCI cards may have heat problem issues. And my pci slot is dangerously close to my monstrously hot GTX 280 graphics card too. I should consider buying a pci ex16 sound card the next time, the slots are further away from the graphics slots. But anyway it works now, no poppling at all. I don't know why. It have stayed without poppling sounds for a day now under hard gaming. I have no clue why that is.

I recommend people turn off their computers more often. I can see now that having the computer turned on for long periods of time may not be so good after all. The heat accumulate and stay trapped beneath the components. Even with my lian li cube case and 14 huge fans blowing constantly, I think it is good to shut it down from time to time.
