Ok so what about going to 3D? Expensive people. To have the latest and greatest thing, you have to spend money. When Vacuum cleaners came out, they cost around $500-600. Now they are around $100 and people are complaining about paying that. If you don't do it yourself, it is expensive. Hey I paid $600 for my MGS PS3. Did it hurt my wallet? YES. Did I go hungry for two weeks? YES. But I knew that going into the purchase knowing that. I don't complain about things too much that I haven't paid for.
The PS Move system to me seems like a good value. I can add it up. PS Move bundle (PS Move, PS Eye, and A $40 game) is $100. Add the Navigation Controller, $30. so about that price would be cheaper than the Microsoft Kinect ($140 most likely) and over the Wii setup ($70, considering you are still using the stock sensor bar). But Nintendo's stuff will always be cheap, and always have games that won't apply to most core gamers out there. The Kinect will solely have to rely on Motion sensing, which doesn't have any controls. The Move will have more buttons that the Wiimote out of the box, paired with the PS Eye which can do everything that a PS Eye already does (it just have better marketing. Sony really didn't market the Eye good except for the Eye of Judgment). Also look at the software title. Sony can still do games like SOCOM4 and Killzone, all while in 3D! It doesn't require to be standing all the time like the Kinect will, and has more flexibility than the Wiimote.
I did have doubts about the Move, but what I have seen the past few days has been awesome. SOCOM4 was enough for me to get on the Bus with the Move. IGN.com said that they was now on the bandwagon, and SOCOM4 with the move is natural and makes sense. Sorcery will be a sleeper. At first I was like whatever, but then when I seen the developer act like he was drinking the potion, and the bulb actually changed to indicate he drunk the potion, was enough to convince me. Kinect will have a harder time. I think both solutions will be better than the Wii. Mostly old titles with the identical gameplay. No real New IPs was announced during their press conference.
So hey, you don't have to buy it. But don't complain if you do buy it.
