Dear Google. I'm not buying another thermostat, this isn't the kind of device you update every year like, it's the kind that you replace when it breaks.

Please ensure your older devices are fully supported, there is zero reason the original hardware cannot perform just was well as whatever you replace it with.

Who said anything about updating a thermostat every year? The 3rd gen Nest is seven years old.

To your point about "zero reason", that's not true. If a device doesn't support Thread then it can't support Matter. But the 3rd gen does support it.

You said that Google later confirmed that the 3rd gen won't support it but you didn't provide the confirmation. Can you please do so.
