■ Some of the files might be missing from your computer, so that might be the cause of the error. To fix it, first, you’ll need to uninstall Chrome. Click on the Start menu icon and when the menu opens, click on the Control Panel (Called settings in win10)
■ Click on the Uninstall a program right under the Programs (Called Aps in win10).
■ In the list of programs, find and double-click on the Google Chrome.
■ Click the uninstall button, and don’t forget to click the checkbox Also delete your browsing data if you want to delete your bookmarks, history, etc.
■ Now, download Chrome again, and try to reinstall it.
■ Another possible issue is that the update didn’t finish properly, so reboot your computer and try to update again.
■ Also, make sure that your antivirus, firewall and other similar programs like Malwarebytes, didn’t block tools.google.com and dl.google.com.
■ Some malware or some other unwanted software might also be the cause of the error, so make sure to check for any malware on your computer.
■ If the issue persists, your best bet would be to contact google support and see if they can help in any way.
