The Samsung Galaxy Note8, like its predecessors, will feature fast charging. According to Samsung, adaptive fast charging will recharge your Note8 up to 50% in about 30 minutes. In this tutorial, we will go through the simple steps to using adaptive fast charging on your Galaxy Note8.
1. Ensure that Fast Cable Charging is Enabled
a. From the Home screen swipe up or down to access the Apps tray.
b. Go to Settings->Device Maintenance.
c. Tap the Battery icon.
d. Tap on and enter the Advanced Settings menu (the 3 vertical dots at the top right corner).
e. In the Advanced Settings, ensure that the Fast Cable Charging option is turned on.
2. Use your adaptive fast charger
a. Inset the USB-C cable into the phone’s charger port
b. Connect the other end of the USB cable to charging head and plug into a standard outlet.
c. Unplug your phone from the charger when charging is complete.
An adaptive fast charger should come supplied with your Note8, however, if you do not have the fast charger that was supplied with your device, you may identify an adaptive fast charger by looking at the back. The output should read 9.0V->1.67A or 5.0V->2.0A and would normally have the words “Adaptive Fast Charging” printed.
To optimize the Note8’s fast charging capabilities, you may also apply the following additional tips:
• Charge your phone while turned off.
• Use an official Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger when possible.
• Use a standard wall outlet instead of a laptop or PC to charge your phone’s battery.
