While using your LinkedIn account, sometimes it is important to add a particular suffix with any additional qualifications (eg. PhD), to your profile name so that the profile visitors or your LinkedIn connections know your profession and/or your area of expertise.
At the time of this writing, LinkedIn has no field dedicated to add suffix to your profile. In order to add a suffix to your name, you can include the text in the last name field.
Assuming that you did not add a suffix to your LinkedIn profile during the creation process, here is how you can get it done even after the profile has been created::

■Open your favorite web browser.
■Open the LinkedIn website by typing www.linkedin.com in the address bar and pressing Enter.
■On the Sign In window, provide your credentials in the appropriate fields, and click the Sign In button.
■On the Home page, click the Profile menu from the menu bar at the top.
■From the new page that comes up, click the Edit Profile option.
■Once this is done, from the top section, click Edit (pencil icon) representing your username. (E.g. Jacob Moore in this demonstration)
■Add the desired suffix by typing in the field representing your last name. (E.g. Ph.D in this demonstration)
■Click the Save button in order to apply the changes.
10. Finally, click the Done Editing button to complete the process.
