Roku provides the users the ability to alter the display type of their wish. They also enable the users to set their own resolution for display purposes. In addition to settings the themes, screensavers, captioning feature, you can now set your own frame type for the better visual displays.
The television usually provides various displays along with different resolutions and frame rates. Your Roku player can be configured automatically to detect the best resolution and the frame rate of your TV. You can also configure manually select the resolution, frame rate which is collectively known as the display type.
On Your Roku device
Step 1
Press the ‘Home’ button on your Roku remote.

Select the ‘Settings’ options by scrolling through the list of available options.

You will find the best resolution and frame rate for your Roku device displayed.
On clicking the Display type option, you can choose your preferred display type from the list of options, you can witness the auto detect option. This will automatically detect the best frame rate and resolution.

You can choose the resolution you want. Once done, Roku will analyze the HDMI connection to apply the resolution. During this process, the TV screen might go blank for many seconds

If your Roku player can detect the support for the chosen display type you can click on ‘OK, go to automatic’. If the player is unable to detect, you might see error message where you can force the change to happen.
