How to Change Font Size of Skype Messages

After you have successfully installed Skype on your computer, the default font face for text messages is set to Tahoma, the font style is set to Regular, and the font size is set to 8 pts. For many users the default font settings are acceptable, and it is unlikely that majority of users would ever want to change the configuration.

However, if you wish to have any preferred font size, font face, or font style, you can modify the default settings and change the configuration as per your choice. All you need to do in order to get this done is that you are required to sign-in to your Skype account, and go to the ‘IM appearance’ settings from the ‘Skype Options’ interface.

Here is how:

    ■Turn on your computer system.
■Open the Skype application by double-clicking its icon.
■Click the appropriate option to log-in either using Microsoft account or by your Skype Name.

■Assuming that you are using your Skype Name to log in, provide your credentials in the appropriate fields, and click the Sign in button.

■Once the Skype interface opens up, click Tools located at the menu bar.
■From the expanded list, click Options.

■On the Skype - Options interface, from the displayed list in left pane, click the IM & SMS category.
■Under the IM & SMS section in the left pane, click the IM appearance option.

■Once done, from the right pane, click the Change font button.

10. On the opened pop up box, click the desired font size from the Size: list box.
11. Optionally you can set the font face and font style from the Font and Font style list box respectively.
12. Click OK when done.

13. Finally, click the Save button at the bottom of the Skype - Options window to save the changes and to close the window.
