How to Use an iPad as a Digital Picture Frame

Your iPad is a truly amazing device. It serves a variety of functions including a camera, a phone, an MP3 player, a streaming video player, and much more. What you might not have known is that if you have an older iPad you can re-purpose it to become a digital picture frame rather easily. Here’s how.

Step 1: On your iPad’s Home screen, tap the Settings icon.

Step 2: On the left side of the screen under Settings, you will see Picture Frame. Tap it.

Step 3: This will open Picture Frame and on the right side of the screen you will see some options for setting up how the Picture Frame will operate.

Step 4: Select your transition from picture to picture. You can choose to zoom in on faces if you like. Turn the shuffle on if you want. Pictures will come up at random instead of in sequence. You can also choose which albums you would like to be part of the Picture Frame slideshow. Tap the Flower icon at the bottom of your lock screen.

You can now sit back and look at your new digital picture frame. Whatever picture or pictures that you decide to include in your slideshow will be displayed on the iPad. The Picture Frame function was removed from newer models of the iPad. If you have an iPad 2 or newer, you will have to do a Google search for an app to replace Picture Frame. Picmatic is one such app that gives you most of the same features as Picture Frame.
