How to Use Boosts in Bejeweled Blitz

In Bejeweled Blitz, one of the incarnations of PopCap’s Bejeweled series, your goal is to make as many matches of 3 or more gems of the same color within one minute. There are boosts that you can get to help out. Just follow these simple steps to learn about boost acquisition and use.

1. Open and start the game- Tap the Bejeweled Blitz icon to open the game, then tap play.

2. Selection- There are 5 boosts to choose from, and you can take 3 into the round. These cost coins, so ensure you have enough coins to purchase your boosts. Tap the boost icons you want and they will be used for the next three rounds. Now, names and details of the boosts.

3. Mystery Gem- Places a Flame Gem, Star Gem, or Hypercube on the board right away.

4. Detonator- The lower left corner has a gem in it which, when tapped, activates all special gems such as multipliers, Power Gems, and Hypercubes that are on the board.

5. Scrambler- This boost has a Scrambler Gem in the bottom right corner of the board. Twice within a round, you can scramble the board with the hope of making more matches.

6. Time- This boost gives you 5 seconds at the end of the 1 minute regulation. No activation necessary.

7. 2x- Instead of making natural matches to increase multiplier, this boost starts you out with a 2x multiplier. Make a match with whatever color it is to collect the boost.
