Orbit Downloader Keeps Retrying Failed Downloads Endlessly

In fact, this is the recommended setting for your instance of Orbit Downloader if you have an unlimited high-speed Internet connection. With this setting enabled, you can leave the entire task of retrying downloads on to the program and can stay relaxed. The Orbit Downloader on its part would keep checking for the availability of the files and would download them as soon as they become available.

On the other hand, if you have a limited Internet connection with not very high connection speed, you can disable the automatic retrying in order to save the bandwidth.

As per the default configuration, the Orbit Downloader is not configured to retry the failed downloads. This setting is kept default in order to avoid the additional consumption of Internet bandwidth. In your case, if you do not want the Orbit Downloader to retry the failed downloads but the program is still behaving against your wish, it simply means that any incompatible application or any other user who has access to your computer has modified the settings. In such situation, you can, by all means, revert the settings back to default where the Orbit Downloader does not retry to download the files once it fails to do so.

After following the instructions given in this tutorial, you will be able to configure your instance of Orbit Downloader so it no longer retries the failed downloads whatsoever.

Here is what you need to do:

    ■Log on to the computer on which Orbit Downloader is installed.

    ■Initialize the Orbit Downloader program if it was not already started during the Windows boot process.

    ■Once initialized, right-click the Orbit Downloader icon in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the computer screen.

    ■From the displayed context menu, go to Preferences.

    ■On the opened Preferences box, from the left pane, click to select the Limits category.

    ■From the right pane, uncheck the Always retry checkbox.

    ■Once done, click OK to save the changes.

    ■Restart the Orbit Downloader program in order to allow the changes to take effect.

    ■If the changes are still not reflected, and your instance of Orbit Downloader still keeps retrying the failed downloads, restart the computer and then try again.
