Why In My Dreamweaver 7.0, Live Preview is No More Executing JavaScript and Validations?

Dreamweaver 7.0 has improved the GUI experience of their users while maintaining the efficient functionality and flexible operability at the same time. Dreamweaver very smartly blends the view section of the home screen between different modes like Code, Split and Live Preview.

The Live Preview section of Dreamweaver, tries to replicate the original or live effects of the code that are similar to the case in which the code is viewed through the online browser. This ability provides you to understand how the codes will perform on the web, hence making the coding and troubleshooting process easy and effective.

The validations are very easily implemented using JavaScript. These JavaScript can be deployed with the help of Dreamweaver’s GUI interface coding, or through manual interpretation of codes by the user. The validations provide higher level of data processing.

The live preview section is able to preview all the HTML codes, server side scripted languages like PHP ASP, and JavaScript codes as they would look on the browser.

However, due to deliberate or accidental actions while accessing the preferences, or due to an incompatible plug-in or software, some settings may have been changed, that may have corrupted the default configurations of Dreamweaver, and have disabled the JavaScript preview from the Live Preview section.

If you are also facing such an issue, you can resolve this by following the steps provided below:
■Using any account privileges, initialize the Dreamweaver program from the Start menu.

■On the interface, select View from the menu bar.

■From the drop-down list that appears, select Live View Options.

■On the drop-down list that opens up, uncheck the Disable JavaScript checkbox.

■On the interface, select File from the menu bar.

■Click Save from the drop-down to save the changes.

■Restart the Dreamweaver application, so that the changes may take effect.

Now when you open your page of codes containing JavaScript or validations, the Live Preview section will again be able to preview those JavaScript with their respective functionality.

Note: Always remember to consider these settings as the default configuration of Dreamweaver, and do not change them if you want Dreamweaver Live Preview section to translate JavaScript as well. Another point to remember is that JavaScript should always be enclosed inside the Script tags, and the type should be defined to JavaScript.
