How do you have a new S5, that phone was released quite a few years ago now. One possibility is that the 3.5mm jack is filled with crap. U could try to use some compressed air and maybe a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol to try and clean it up.

Quick update: left the laptop in balanced with wifi off and only lost about 10% battery over something like 10hours. 10% battery lose versus 100% is a huge improvement. Im gonna run a similar test before I leave to my classes I have today but this time with wifi on and see where they gets me...

I haven't experienced any problems with the laptop fully off it only drains like described in sleep mode when the lid is closed. Could be due to the wireless though. I'm not sure. I'm also not using much of the Asus power saving software.

Not yet don't think it's a battery problem but maybe a driver or something. Might even be a program causing the issue as it doesn't happen all the time. Please let me know what Asus says.
