One of my speakers in a 2.1 speaker setup with a sub is having an issue where it sometimes makes very little sound until I play a sudden loud base filled sound. It then works perfectly. Its like it is getting stuck. Does any one know what is happening?

How can I connect my computer to my speakers and connect a second input to something els. Is it as simple as soldering two male plugs to one female plug and using that? Or will that cause a issue like over amping.
