I agree that rig is worth about $400 at the most. The CPU can be found for a little over $100 at a local brick and mortar store near me. The 970 is worth about $100. The used RAM is about $75. The SSD is currently about $50 brand new. Windows 7 doesn't really have any resale value.

When you open sounds are there any other inputs that are open? There is usually a 3.5mm mic input at the front of the case and at the rear of the motherboard. Have you tried both with different mics? Buying/using a sound card with a mic input for use in a PCIe slot may circumvent that sound...
