How safe is using the fans at 100% while gaming on a laptop?

Sorry for the thread bump but have some good info. I wouldn't worry about it. I was worried with my laptop (MSI GT60 Dominator 424 Pro) because it would throttle unless I manually enabled the turbo fan button which runs the fan at max. This meant any time I wanted to play games I had to have the...

Solved! Device to record through audio jack, while still passing audio through

Yea 3.5mm audio jack, and the problem is the device will be in a racecar without access to a computer, that's why I was wondering if there was a device that did that. Basically the device would record the audio file and then I could transfer it to a computer later and edit it into the video...

Solved! Device to record through audio jack, while still passing audio through

Hello all, I'm trying to find a device that would allow me to plug in a MP3 cable into one end, and out the other and have the device record the incoming MP3 and output it through the other line. To give an explanation of what I'm trying to do, I have a raceciever device which allows the tower...

    Reciever to subwoofer compatibility

Ok, I'll test it out and if it works I'll order a 2 ohm resistor off of ebay (Can get 100 for $1 :) ) So my last question is will the sub work if I'm not using 5.1? The way the speakers are connected is HDMI->Monitor->MP3 cable->Receiver will this utilize the sub?

    Reciever to subwoofer compatibility

Thanks for the feedback! I only have it running two speakers right now it can support 5.1 do you think it would be ok because its not powering as many speakers so the extra heat would just be what it normally uses? Or could I put a 2ohm resistor in series with the sub? And can the receiver power...

USB shorted out laptop speakers and MP3 jack?

Ah ok, yea do not have the skills required to de-solder a sound card I've done a lot of soldering but nothing small like that. But I'm thinking it might be more then the sound card because the computer will actually affect other things on the same breaker in my house. If its plugged in the I've...

    Reciever to subwoofer compatibility

Hello all, so I've recently been getting into audio and try ing to understand it all. I have a JBL DCR600ii that I want to try and pair with a Song SS-WSB111 sub. The receiver has two subwoofer outputs, one is LFE, the other is a 8ohm positive negative terminal. The sub is 6ohm and does not have...

USB shorted out laptop speakers and MP3 jack?

Does a laptop have a sound card, I thought it was built into the motherboard?

USB shorted out laptop speakers and MP3 jack?

Hello everyone, so the other day I might have shorted out my laptop. I was working on coding an arduino, and had it wired it up according to a diagram that was for if it wasn't plugged into a computer rather then the one for if it was. Long story short when I plugged it in it shut down my...

Gaming laptop, when starting games on battery, battery instantly loses all power

I have a MSI GT60 Dominator 424 that is a little over a year old. (Specs below) Recently I've had problems where I would go to start a game on battery (Space Engineers, and Unturned so far have both had the issue) and the laptop would instant shut down as soon as it loaded, and when I turned it...

Laptop randomly shutdown during gaming (MSI GT60 DOminator 424)

Yea temp is fine, just feel like the fan won't last long having to keep it at 100% while gaming.

Laptop randomly shutdown during gaming (MSI GT60 DOminator 424)

I played it for a while today, without the fan set to max it reached 85 (HWMonitor) with the fan on maxed was around 68-72. I didn't have an issue, so I'm guessing without the fan set to max it just overheated. Aggravating that I can't rely on the computer to cool itself without overheating, oh...

Laptop randomly shutdown during gaming (MSI GT60 DOminator 424)

Measured temps using MSI Afterburner Rivatuner statistics on screen display. 60C can't be too hot because it will never be below that on a game like BF4, with the fans ramped up to max and a cooling pad it would reach 80C, there isn't any dust build up yet as I've only had it a month, and I...

Laptop randomly shutdown during gaming (MSI GT60 DOminator 424)

67C is too hot? It's rated for up to 100C. I've played for hours with it hovering around 80C without an issue. At the time of the crash I had it on top of a Cooler Master X3 cooling pad, although from my tests it only makes a 1C-2C difference for this laptop.
