Best laptop for work emails and excel

If you can stretch your budget a bit I can personally recommend the LENOVO IdeaPad 310, which can be had for £350. I think it's worth the extra for two reasons. The full HD screen is nicer to work with (most cheap laptops have a lower resolution), it's still quite wishy washy but I do a bit of...

Solved! 35 Foot HDMI - Booster or RJ45?

I stream from my gaming PC to my laptop (Steam) and to my NVidia Shield (NVidia) and both work perfectly using an RJ-45 cable. I bought a 50m reel of outdoor rated cable and a bag of heads for about £20. The advantage for me was that it let me run the cable down the side of the house which...

Alienware 13 r3 vs The new razer blade

There are youtube video reviews of both laptops individually and you can easily find some general benchmarks for the performance of a 1060. They are both i7 with a 1060 GPU so I wouldn't expect a huge discrepancy in performance between them, in general the 1060 is an excellent 1080p card but...

    GeForce GTX 960M question

You will be able to run Overwatch on medium settings or so, you could get pretty much anything running at 30fps if you dial things back to low/medium. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Nvidia-GeForce-GTX-960M-Review.137893.0.html If you look at the gaming benchmarks, although these are older games...

Black screen when turning on my Acer laptop

What model of Acer? Check you haven't used the function keys to change it to a monitor output, not sure exactly for your laptop but on mine you hold the blue FN button and press one of the number keys with a symbol like a rectangle on it to switch between modes. If it isn't that, does it seem...

External 1080p Monitor with Macbook Pro Retina more or less graphically demanding?

Running a game at 1080p will be less demanding than running it at 1800p, one of the biggest impacts on performance is screen resolution.

    Dell Ded ?

What model of Dell Laptop and when you say the new battery isn't charging do you mean this is a new laptop or you bought a new battery for an old laptop? My other question would be are you using the supplied Dell charger or a 3rd party one and is the battery a Dell one or from a 3rd party source.

Is it worth 50€ to upgrade GT 920M to GT 940M ?

Personally I have a 250gb in place on mine and it has been enough for me. I think 120gb might be a little tight, GTA V was a 60gb install on my PC.

Is it worth 50€ to upgrade GT 920M to GT 940M ?

It sounds like a reasonable price, obviously there are other factors like the quality of the screen, general standard of build and other parts that might influence that. Personally I use a budget Acer with an SSD I added myself and for light gaming and general tasks I find it works perfectly.

Is it worth 50€ to upgrade GT 920M to GT 940M ?

There are a few videos on youtube of Fallout 4 being played with both these systems, they aren't run in the same area or at the same resolutions so it isn't a side by side comparison but basically. 840m was running at 768p with mainly on low with a few bits of eye candy on in the 40's and...

    Opinions on budget ASUS laptop?

I personally use a budget Laptop AMD A10-7300 it cost me about £450. First thing I did was buy an SSD which probably took my spend up to £500. It can do light gaming i.e. stuff like XCOM, Left4Dead, CS:GO pretty well and thanks to the SSD it boots and runs pretty fast when I need it. One thing...

    Dell 7559 vs alienware 14

Yep, getting a bit off topic. So for the original question the reason is: Answer 1: They offer better build quality, extended warranty, better quality accessories and bundled software (true to a varying extent). Answer 2: Glowing lights and a fancy logo. Just remember though that Alienware is...

    Dell 7559 vs alienware 14

Firstly I didn't endorse buying the Dell system I offered the opinion that Alienware do very little to justify their price. The spec on that Alienware can barely play modern games at its native resolution today let alone in a years time and if he isn't gaming then why even bother looking at an...

    Dell 7559 vs alienware 14

Alienware is simply overpriced, alot of these gaming brands expect you to pay a premium for style vs spec. Alienware is owned by Dell the components will almost certainly come from the same supply sources at the same price to the company. I don't believe the answer gets any more complex than...
