Coax F connection clean-out of NOALOX

Well, I tried squirting some 91% isopropal on a small glob...it didn't dissolve it right away, like I was expecting; but, with a paper towel folded up just right, I got it. Sure is nice to finally get good reception. I just hope the sealant sealed up, o.k.: the G.E. 100% Silicone (clear stuff...

Coax F connection clean-out of NOALOX

Alcohol worked o.k (I think). Thanks, nuts32605. I'll know for sure when the "real" sealant sets up in a few hours. I used "G.E. 100% Silicone II" ("weatherproof", "30min Rain-Ready") on basically the entire Gilbert connector (F-Connector).

Coax F connection clean-out of NOALOX

Guy at Home Depot told me to squirt a glob of Noalox right in the F-connector of outside antenna, before screwing in the cable. After reasearching, I should have only used it on the threads (not the center conductor). How can I clean out the cable-end, now (up there on the roof)? It is a RG6...

Reusing Masonry Screws set in mortar between cinderblock in dry garage--for a coax Ground Block

O.K. One of the mounting screw loosened, then tightened up, o.k. Now, I just need to get enough info to be able to drill 1 new starter hole into the mortar, between the cinderblocks, below the original lower screw (since the 2 mounting holes on the new grounding block are farther apart than on...

Reusing Masonry Screws set in mortar between cinderblock in dry garage--for a coax Ground Block

I was going to mount an antenna on the roof, with coax connection from it (to the garage). The garage wall is cinder block, and there is a ground block already attached, with the DirectTV coaxial input cable, but there is only 1 attachment for a coax. I got a new ground block with multiple...

Only one HDTV. I want to receive Both OTA and 'cable', without having to remove (change) coaxial connections.

OOUCH! Someone (finally) forgot to turn off the DirecTV set-top... the antenna got fried! That's what I get for trying not to use the Di-plexer at the DirecTv box's off-air coax. port, and make do with what I had with me. I wasn't sure it would do any damage to the antenna, especially since...

Only one HDTV. I want to receive Both OTA and 'cable', without having to remove (change) coaxial connections.

I need to share an (input to the TV) coax cable with both my OTA antenna and directTV "cable". There's only one hole drilled through the garage wall for a cable, and it's not big enough to squeeze both coaxials through (only the [DirecTV] input cable goes through, now [to the T.V. set-top...
