Does Windows 10 spy on users?

Anybody who has waded into any major EULA statement know that they reserve the right to give, sell, trade, exchange and pretty do whatever they damned well want to do with all the data they collect from you. How would you like them selling everything they know about you - including identifying...

How best to interface an old analog receiver with an optical source?

Confirmed, your receiver uses Dolby Prologic, which is encoded directly into the 2 channels. Additionally, your receiver has a "simulated surround" mode - meaning it can attempt to create surround sound from sources that have no surround sound encoded. Hope you got the remote with your unit...

    Speaker membrane ruined?

Hook another pair of speakers up and see if they work. If they do, your speakers are toast. If they don't work then you need to see if any signal is going into your amp. If there is, then your amp is toast. If not, then you need to find out why there's no signal going into your amp.

Solved! can you run a 3ohm infinity 6.5 speaker in paralell with a 4 ohm cadence 5x7 speaker with a 2 channel 2 ohm stable amp?

You do realize professional companies can spend 5 years or more designing new speaker systems, right? There's a couple of things you need to know. 1st. your hifonics amp is not all that. It's advertised power rating is a wee bit inflated. According to the specs at...

Solved! can you run a 3ohm infinity 6.5 speaker in paralell with a 4 ohm cadence 5x7 speaker with a 2 channel 2 ohm stable amp?

OK, I looked at the amp you're buying and see that it has a basic lowpass/highpass filter on it. What I recommend is that you think of the combination 5x7+mid+tweeter as a set. You should want them to remain as a set regardless of which amp you hook them to. I assume you mean you have 2 of...

Wiring issues on a Boombox build

Wiring them in parallel will present your amp with a 2.66 ohm load. What is the minimum load your amp is rated for?

Solved! can you run a 3ohm infinity 6.5 speaker in paralell with a 4 ohm cadence 5x7 speaker with a 2 channel 2 ohm stable amp?

I would guess your current configuration is not good for the amp. But running both sets in parallel, as you want, will bring the total load down to 2 ohms per channel. Which is the minimum load your amp can handle. However, we're missing something here. Are you planning on hooking tweeters...

Amp Has Two Sets of Speaker Terminals. Connecting 2 pairs of speakers?

The calculations are as follows. In series: A+B In parallel: 1/((1/A)+(1/B)) So,your speakers are already only 6 ohms while the amp prefers something between 4 and 8 ohms. In all cases, these amps with multiple speaker jacks put the speakers in parallel. I've never seen nor heard of any...

Solved! Is it possible to connect two passive speakers to only one amplifier output?

Load is defined as the total resistance of a circuit. So reducing a load literally means reducing the total resistance of the circuit. No contradiction there at all. And you didn't need to mention the built in crossover. I got that by looking up his amp and reading the owners manual. A 4...

Solved! Is it possible to connect two passive speakers to only one amplifier output?

No, it does not halve the power of the amp. In fact, it usually doubles it. But not in this particular case, as I'll get into presently. I don't suppose those satellite speakers have the ohms rating on the back, do they? Running speakers in parallel (like your graphic) reduces the total load...

Crackling/Popping Sound from Two Different Speaker Sets

I wonder why nobody thought of this yet. Try turning the volume on your computer down and then turn your TV volume up to compensate. It could be the computers amp is over-driven.

How can i connect my PHILIPS DSP 30U 5.1 system to my laptop which has only one 3.5mm jack ?

You say your DSP has a USB input. Therefore, it accepts digital signals. Why don't you use that? The sound quality will be far better than through any laptop DAC.
