Solved! Will this SSD and RAM work in my laptop ?

SSD no as the current drive is a 2.5" SATA HDD, therefore you will want to go with a 2.5" SATA SSD. RAM might work as long as there is an open RAM slot.

Just play some music and use guess and check. Nothing will happen to the computer if you plug it into the wrong 3.5mm plug.

What kind of SSD is compatible with my laptop?

From the information that I can get, the M.2 slot is a SATA slot. Therefore the SSD that you want isn't compatible. You would need either the 2.5" or M.2 variety of the Crucial BX-500, Samsung EVO-860, etc...

    Solved! What to update first?

Windows 7 will go out of support in January 2020, so going to Linux wouldn't be the worst idea. Also since your laptop is old you will get better performance with it from Linux. There is a good possibility that you can use WINE to run those Windows apps or there might be a Linux alternative.

Internet explorer when clicked, flashes and closes almost instantly. Only on non-administrative accounts

Since it is still happening after a fresh install, my guess is there is somewhere that has a problematic group policy. I would say you can test that by removing it from the domain, rebooting, create a local user without admin rights, login to that user and see if it still happens.

Internet explorer when clicked, flashes and closes almost instantly. Only on non-administrative accounts

Have you tried turning off IE through "Turn Windows features on or off" inside of Programs and Features. That will uninstall it and then when you click it on again it will reinstall, or you could just download IE 11 and install again.

Internet explorer when clicked, flashes and closes almost instantly. Only on non-administrative accounts

Avoiding IE if possible is the best solution. 99.9% of things can be done in the IT world with either Chrome or Firefox. Now I understand that there are situations where IE is the lowest common denominator since it is installed on every Microsoft OS dating back to Win 95. Unless what you are...
