Is it just me or is this list of updates completely useless. I hate ringtones, never had trouble rearranging apps on my home screen, don't use the iTunes store for music, don't use bluetooth and wifi at the same time, dont use microsoft exchange, and dont have a 3GS. YAWN.........

Poorly shielded cable was my hunch - problem is I could not find any information on how to shield a cable yourself. Maybe if someone else has some info on this they could share.

Well the onboard audio is realtek and the pci express card is creative. They use different drivers so that couldn't be the problem.
