    So u cant connect both microphone and headphone wires to the laptop since it has only only jack port? And then you use the Y adapter to convert both into a single jack? If this is the case, the laptop port may not support the 4 contact jack, and cannot recognise the microphone.

    If you go to the sound configuration in windows (right click in the icon in the windows bar), in recording devices it should show both microphones, you can disable the one from the kraken or simply make the yeti the predefined one

    You can only with the charger on probably because of the energy settings that put the computer in power saving mode and decreasing performance (you can change this in control panel, in energy option). Did you check if the charger cable is not damaged or something? If it isn't it can be both...

    Don't worry about that, simply connect the cables with the computer on, it will ask what are you plugging. If it doesn't you can change later on in the Realtek control panel. Those ports can change their functionality based on what you are plugging, just be sure to connect first the green cable...
