Yeah, I think that Coolermaster make a laptop cooling pad, so that would probably be a good idea. Also, if your laptop didn't use to get as hot, it maybe that is has filled up with dust, and it is blocking the intake/exhaust, so you could always get a can of compressed air, and try to get rid of it.

Most of these games will run at low settings 720p, although you might have a little trouble getting Bioshock to run at a decent framerate.
