Hi everyone,
For those who don't want to read the long description below:
- Laptop good for playing games from time to time (med to high graphics)
- Good build quality
- Runs cool
- Price ~1000-2000 usd (preferably between 1000-1500)
- 4+ hour battery life
- <6 pounds (pref less than 5)
- 4k display (if its not too much more expensive)
- LONGEVITY!!!!!
- 14-15.6 inch screen size
Thanks!
And for those who are willing to read my circumlocution below:
I'm looking for a laptop which is good for a college student who wants portability, good battery life, and plays games smoothly (preferably at med/high settings). (I know, its like an oxymoron, light, long battery life and a gaming laptop).
While the above factors do have a lot of weight upon my decision for a laptop, the most important factor is the laptop's longevity. I want a laptop that I can play games on from time to time which will last for 4 years without any parts failing or becoming less effective. (I bought an hp dv6 4 years ago and the 6770m videocard has already died).
I have a laptop cooling pad (for a 15' laptop) already which will hopefully help extend the battery life.
Laptops I have looked at are:
Asus ROG G501JW (probably the best one I have seen so far, price is a bit high though)
MSI G60 Ghost (Looks good, long battery and light weight but reviews say temperatures range from 50-90 celcius which is wayyyyy too hot)
Razer Blade (Looks like a great option but I can't bring myself to buy it for such a premium price)
Lenovo y50 4k (Best deal I have found so far, don't know about the battery life and cooling though)
Thanks for all of your help!
