What is the make and model of the laptop? That will help as we can look it up on you tube of a disassembly that tells us what type of screw it would be. It looks stripped or close to it but what I have so far it might be a hex, but that is just a random guess.

Well by what your describing, it looks like it might be ram, cmos battery, motherboard, might be power jack but I doubt it based on what you said. I would check those things before moving on.
