I looked it up, it is F2 to enter the BIOS on an Acer Laptop. You have to shutdown the computer, then restart it and press F2 as it starts to boot. IF this does not work, you may need to press ctrl, alt, delete, and THEN F2. Once in the BIOS you should find a diagnostic somewhere on the menus.

Wouldn't TV/Cable require coaxial cable? Perhaps the second ethernet was just for extra convenience? Maybe the last family was REALLY connected. Maybe they had wired home security? Cameras, etc?

That system seems decent. It has a good CPU and a fair amount of RAM. No discrete graphics thou, BUT if you are using mostly light or older games it should be ok. Should be great for class work, papers, note taking etc.
