Solved! MSI laptot with broken screen won’t show display on MSI monitor or Sony TV

Right, try the hotkeys. MSI has their own dedicated key on one of the function keys. You can also use the Windows key and P key together, though you may have to try a couple of times and press the Enter key to confirm changes (blindly).

    Issue with my laptop performance

When comparing benchmark scores to identical hardware, you have to account for a margin of error, binning, and design differences. If the gap in scores is egregious, then it's fair to be concerned (I'm not sure what kind of differences you saw). AMD has a rocky history with drivers. Have you...

Solved! I have sound no video on laptop

Hi sandra. We'll need more info please. Make and model of laptop? Are you using an external monitor/TV? You can try using the Windows key and the P key to toggle the display (you may have to try a few times if you can't see anything).

    Solved! New Laptop for College

You'll most likely have to stick with at least 14"+ for a system with decent gaming hardware and sufficient cooling. Something with a 1060 or 1070 Max-Q might work for you, if the suggested 1050ti isn't up to what you want performance-wise. Consider Asus (Zephyrus), MSI (GS Stealth), or Razer...

Solved! What's the maximum capacity my laptop can support?

I could be misunderstanding, but it looks like your SATA Host Controller - the hardware that processes data across the SATA bus - is capable of Gen 3/6.0 Gb/s speeds, but your ports (the interfaces themselves) are not electronically SATA Gen 3/6.0 Gb/s. In either case, a Gen 3/6.0 Gb/s drive...

Solved! What's the maximum capacity my laptop can support?

Yes, it will support 1TB and 2TB drives just fine. You can install an SSD, but since any drive you install will be limited to SATA Gen 2/3.0 Gbps speeds, I think the most sensible option would be a mechanical drive. Happy upgrading!

Solved! What RAM to buy. What processor can I get? Help needed.

As far as I've read, this system only has one memory slot - and yes, the CPU is not upgradeable. Your best memory upgrade will likely be 8GB, max, assuming the laptop will support it.

Solved! Unable to run 3D software due to green pixels on screen then crashing??

Your video memory is most likely faulty. That would require the 970M to be repaired (I believe it is surface mounted to your computer's motherboard, in which case the entire motherboard would need to be replaced).

Solved! New pop up on Chrome Browser

Thanks c1sanford70, and kudos to SUPERAntiSpyware! Routine malware/spyware scans are fine to run in a normal Windows environment. If you suspect something bad has made it through, it is better practice to run your scans in Safe Mode, and it's also not a bad idea to run a utility called RKill to...

    Solved! Laptop Not Turning On

Your laptop's motherboard is most likely gone. It may not be terribly expensive to replace, but up to you on whether to spend the money on parts and labor, or just buy a replacement laptop.

    Solved! Error c0000022 while updating

Windows error? You can try running repairs from a DVD or USB; startup repair, restore point, command line repair tools, etc. If it happened during a BIOS update, you might be out of luck.

    Solved! Please help. Toshiba C55T-A

Probably the keyboard needs to be replaced. If an external USB keyboard givers you similar problems, then it's the keyboard controller on the laptop's motherboard; the motherboard would need to be replaced, then (unless you know a really good tech that can source and replace that chip).

Solved! My 43 inch led tv has 2 vertical lines on the side of the screen...what causes that and how to fix it

Faulty screen, one of the layers in the LCD is bad. You can check in with the manufacturer about repairs, in or out of warranty, but nowadays LCD screens are something of a throwaway when they go bad. If it's out of warranty, the manufacturer may not do anything about it.

Solved! New pop up on Chrome Browser

It might not be flagged as a virus, per se. Try a spyware cleaner (something like SUPERAntiSpyware), and even a system junk cleaner (Ccleaner, Glary Utilities, etc.) You can also run your scans (full scan) in Safe Mode with non-Windows services turned off. That tends to yield more thorough results.

Solved! what if my mic isn't in the list of devices? the usb won't recognize it when plugged in

The mic may have failed suddenly. Did you try connecting it to another USB port, and/or another device in the same port?
